Not summer yet

The temperatures these last couple of days show why you have to have patience and not plant those annuals when it goes over 20 in April.

In the last 10 years (I can say that now that the station is over 10 years old), the date of the last frost has varied between April 29th and May 21st.

Typically it happens during the first week of May.

UW Weather station blog

This blog was started as an offshoot of the observations about the weather that I regularly put on the UW weather station homepage. I wanted to have an archive of them as well as have a place where people can leave their comments on the things I write.

It would have been nice to set up a blog directly on the UW weather station website, but it would have been a lot of work and this site took about 10 minutes to set up.

Another bonus is that it has a built in XML feed so you can get updates directly to your RSS reader if you are interested in being notified when there is new post. See below for the XML feed.

We will see how it goes, hopefully it won't be too much of a burden to maintain.

For anyone who is not coming to this blog from the website, you can find out all about the UW weather station here: weather.uwaterloo.ca
