April 2017 Summary

A warm and wet April

We saw a bounce back in temperatures with April coming in at two and half degrees above average, this makes it the warmest since 2010.  It was a classic spring weather pattern with some spells of temperatures over 20°C mixed in with days in the single digits.

It was yet another wet month, the total precipitation of 124.4 mm was much more than the average of 74.5 mm, and it was spread out over the month with 5 days over 10 mm.  The total for the year of 393.8 mm is well above the average for the first 4 months of the year which is 264.4 mm.

Assuming the 1 cm of snow that fell in April is the end of the snowfall season, the total will end up at 126.0 cm coming in below the average of 159.7 cm.
