A very wet month with very average temperature
The temperature was incredibly consistent with only a handful of days here and there that were more than a few degrees off of the average. Not surprisingly this resulted in the overall temperature being exactly average for August.
The month got off to a very wet start with 47.6 mm coming down on the second day. It was then consistently pretty wet throughout the rest of the month with a few more very rainy days near the end.
Overall, the total for August was 139.7 mm, more than twice the average 66.2 mm. This is the second wettest August in the almost 30 year history of the E.D. Soulis Memorial Weather Station. The wet month also put the total precipitation so far in 2026 (740.7 mm) well above the average (596.0 mm).
The statistics for the meteorological summer (June-July-August) were that the temperature was just 0.6 degrees above average and the total precipitation of 319.3 mm was well above the average of 221.0 mm.
