A cold January with average precipitation
With only a few scattered days that were above average, it
is not that surprising that the month was very cold (overall 3 degrees below
average). However, it might be
surprising that it was not that much colder than last year’s (much hyped) January. Although it was February and March that
really made last winter stand out, so we still have a long way to go to match
it.
After a wet start to the month, the rest was pretty dry,
causing us to end within the average range.
As far as snow, the 34 cm that came down was below the average of 43.7
cm.
As well, a bit of milestone here as this month marks the 10th
year that I have been doing these weather station summaries (and if you didn’t

).

CONGRATULATIONS on your tenth year anniversary!
It is shown on theweathernetwork that the total precipitation of this Jan (after the summation of daily values) is about 23-25 mm. I am just wondering why these data can be so different. Besides, the 'average precipitation' shown in Wiki of Waterloo is 65.2mm for Jan. Actually I find this Jan is pretty dry, coz I could even cycle to school since the road was not icy for about ten days.

Whatever happened to the wind chill graph? I know it used to only exist on the graphs page when there was wind chill happening, but with these last few super-cold days, I've been really curious to see how low it's been getting.
