July 2026 Summary

A hot July with average precipitation

The month started out really warm, with the average high for the first 14 days coming in at almost 30°C.  The second half was a not quite as hot, resulting in the overall temperature being one degree above average.  Also, if it wasn’t for a couple of days in June of last year, the 34.2°C on the 14th would have been the warmest temperature in the region since July of 2000.

There were only 7 days of precipitation during July, this is the least since 2001.  However, there were two really wet days (23.2 mm on the 9th and 47.4 mm on the 21st) so the total of 77.6 mm was only a bit below the average of 83.7 mm and within the average range.

Even with this month being less than average, the total precipitation so far in 2026 of 601.0 mm stayed above the average of 509.0 mm.
