October 2014 Summary

A warm October that was wetter than average

This October was 1.5 degrees above average which means that it was the second month in a row we had an above average month for temperature.  There was quite a spread between the daily highs and lows, with the daily highs being only half a degree above average while the daily lows were 2.5 degrees above.

Also interesting to note is that it is the fifth October in a row when the temperature has been above average.

For almost the entire month, the precipitation was hovering on the top end of the average range and in the end the total was just above that average range.  The total was 79.6 mm compared to the average of 67.1 mm.  Interestingly, there was only one day with more than 10 mm but the total number of days of precipitation of 19 was well above the average of 13.

At 825.7 mm we are still above the average of 748.3 mm going into the last 3 months of the year.
