We are probably going to only have a half of the snow of a typical winter and nobody has to tell you that it was a lot warmer than average.

I vote for "frightening".
This will probably go down as the greatest temperature spike from a month from one year to the next. Ie March 2012 will be 8-12C warmer than 2011.
Shouldn't it be Winter 2011-2012?
Whoops, my bad, title corrected, thanks for the heads up.
We may be about to enjoy the longest stretch of 20 C or better days in March on record. The new long range charts continue to look amazing! If this happens, we may also have an average high temperature of over 10 C for March. The last time that happened was way back in 1946 (10.8 C for average high).
