My summer started in May so I'm a bit bias and didn't get to experience the mid-May frost and snow.
Seemed like a late start, but turned out to be a great summer. No real drought so the grass stayed green all season.
Definitely a late start to summer but, all in all, the weather was pretty good. I've seen colder summers, and warmer ones. OTOH, it did tend to be a rather wet summer. I guess that's why the leaves haven't fallen yet. Hopefully we'll get enough sunshine this week to brighten up those fall colours.
