A dry September after a very wet start combined with average temperatures
After a warm start, in fact it was over 30°C on the first day of the month, most of the rest of September stayed just a bit above average. There was a cooler week in the middle and the month ended with some more temperatures in the mid-20s. Overall, it was 0.7 degrees above average which puts it just at the top end of the average range.
I don’t know if there has ever been one day that has accounted for so much of a month’s total precipitation. On the second, 55.0 mm of rain fell, then only 4.2 mm came down the rest of the September. The total of 59.2 mm is less than the average of 72.1 mm, which put it in the below average range.
Even with this drier than average month the total precipitation so far this year of 799.9 mm stayed well above the average of 683.5 mm.
