Interesting observation showing how local the heavy downpours can be. Today (30-Jun), 30 mm of rain fell in about 2 hours at Waterloo Airport. Weather radar shows local amounts of up to 50 mm in an axis running NW from the Airport towards Wellesley, bypassing U of Waterloo just to the SW. Perhaps it was a birthday soaking (my bday today)?
